2 Minute Morning Stretch Routine VIDEO

Different sleeping positions can lead to stiffness and tightness when you wake up in the morning.

While laying on your back, a lot of people will prop up their head with pillows leading to flexion through the thoracic spine that can cause stiffness and tightness.  The sheets and blankets will point your toes all night which will lead to calf tightness.

Common side sleeping positions, like the fetal position, will shorten your hip flexors all night.  People also like to curl their hands and wrists up and tuck then near or under their head.  This will tighten the wrist and biceps.

Try this quick 2 minute stretching routine the next time you wake up stiff.  This will help loosen you and up and promote overall mobility.
